The TikTok platform announced the deletion of more than 15.5 million videos in eight markets in the Middle East and North Africa region during the first quarter of the year, due to them violating the platform’s community guidelines.
The removal operations included Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, the Sultanate of Oman, and Iraq Morocco, Lebanon and Sudan, where TikTok said it had intensified its efforts to monitor violating content and take proactive measures against it.
The platform explained that it stopped millions of live broadcasts, and banned hundreds of thousands of live content providers due to violations of usage guidelines.
And on Globally, TikTok said it removed 86.3 million fake accounts, in addition to more than 25.7 million accounts suspected of being under the age of 13.
These measures come within the framework of the platform’s efforts to enhance safety systems and combat fake accounts and violating content, especially with Increased regulatory scrutiny of social media platform policies.
